When I wake up

When I wake up in the morning light

Mom doesn’t say, “Where’d you spend the night?

She knows, ‘cause I always wake up with her

Purring as she rubs my soft belly fur.

Then I say, in my kittenish way,

“Get the breakfast on, mom

Cause I just wanna play!”

Bonding!  Yes, Bondiiiiing!

That’s what’s it’s all about!

It’s just so “cat-gone”, “catgone”  much fun

I want to throw back my head and shout!

I’m just a cat but I love our troops

To show my support, I jump through hoops!

First I claw my way up a six foot chest,

Telling myself that I am the best

At jumping through a hoop high off the ground

Then landing on my bed safe and sound!

On top of the chest, at the very edge

I lift my front paws, with my butt on the ledge

I take a deep breath, and wiggle my rear…

Concentrating hard… fighting the fear!

I perform this feat many times a day
