"Purr Verse Politics by Toast" is a new book soon to be released.  The book features Toast, a very cool cat, and Honey his owner.  The view we have of her is what Toast sees most of the time--bare shapely legs!  The characters in the book include cool cats, fat cats, underdogs, and power mongrels.

Love at First Sight

The shelter was dreary and cold.  I overheard one of the employees mention that I was too sick to be adopted, so I was scheduled for euthanasia the following morning.

 I was terrified, but what I could do?  Suddenly the door opened, and a woman hurried in, quietly closing the door behind her. I fell in love the moment I saw her.  She had gorgeous legs, amber hair and a voice like liquid honey.  I wasn’t all surprised to learn that Honey was her name.  She picked me up, laughed and whispered in my ear. “You look like you’ve been in the toaster too long.”

“And you look like a dumb blond,” I said to myself.  Why is it that some guys are just too stupid when it comes to women!  I disappeared from the shelter late that night and was never seen there again. Nor was Honey.

She cuddled me up in her soft bed, fed me warm chicken with broth, then stroked me gently until I fell asleep.  I wondered briefly if I had in fact died and gone to heaven. Toast and Honey are the main characters in Trisha Yeager Menke's graphic novel, "PurrVerse Politics by Toast." Toast, of course, is the ultimate "Cool cat".  We don't see much of Honey except for the view that Toast has--gorgeous, scantily covered legs!
